“We are a customer oriented business. I know it sounds obvious, but most dealerships are driven by business. I am a biker; I have been all my life. I know what I wanted as a customer, and I am going to provide that to all bikers.”

Open Road Cycles is a full service independent dealership offering general service and repair on most motorcycles, ATV’s, dirt bikes, and scooters. We sell used vehicles, including cruisers, sport bikes, ATV’s and scooters. On top of this, we are a NYS licensed repair and inspection station.

Bob, the owner, has been involved with motorcycles all his life, both as a mechanic and as a biker. Bob recalls the even as a child, he was mechanically inclined.

“I am able to look at things and figure them out. I love to take stuff apart and see how it works”, says Bob. “I was blessed at an early age with a mechanical ability…I enjoy repairing and improving things.” To add to his natural abilities, he has years of experience and is a certified motorcycle mechanic.

A few years ago, Bob visited his father, who was living in Saugerties. He rode his motorcycle up through the picturesque Catskills until he ran out of daylight. After that ride he realized, “I need to live in a place like this!” A couple months later, he moved to Saugerties and with his fathers partnership... never looked back.

With the opening of his new shop, he wants to share his passion for riding with the community. “I think everyone should ride, the world would be a better place. Get out and ride something….a motorcycle, a dirt bike or an ATV, but RIDE!  You never see a motorcycle parked in front of a psychiatrists office”
